As Associate Professor of Performance Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I teach courses that bring together the critical and the creative, the political and the aesthetic, the spectacular and the mundane, and the word and the act. My teaching focuses on guiding students to take risks, create collaboratively, leap into the unknown and discover The New Thing for themselves.

I began training in the Viewpoints with Mary Overlie in 2004. I have led workshops in the Viewpoints at the Shanghai Theatre Academy, University of Exeter, and Penn State University's Art & Design Lab, and many others.
